Amazon Devices is looking for a software development manager with strong experience in managing and delivering successful products for the IT and/or software developer market. You will own building and delivering a new Amazon Devices experience and closely interact with other Devices organizations services like FireOS, FireTV, Echo, Alexa, among others.

You´ll provide developers with different tools and services that make it easy to develop modern device applications. We provide the IDE tooling to build applications for Amazon Devices. Our goal is enable developers WW to create applications that run on a device. We help them author, debug, test, and ultimately deploy code on millions of Amazon Devices (TV, Auto, Echo, etc). We´re forming a new team tasked to develop and improve the tools that Amazon and external engineers use for building their applications. Since this is a new area, this initiative leaves ample opportunities for innovation while already having an existing product to build up on.

You will have the opportunity to play an active role in defining both how our products will work for our customers and how they will function under the hood. The team will have a high quality bar, will live and breathe sound development practices and will iterate quickly on the product. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience in engineering team management

- Experience in engineering

- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

- Building software for devices (e.g Android or RN), including SDK and understanding of how Building and Debugging work.
