Context And Mission

The HPAI group aims to perform and support research on key areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), leveraging supercomputing infrastructure to achieve state of the art applications in AI, focused on innovation and new approaches.

The goal of this position is to push these goals within the scope of agents, ranging from traditional logic-based to machine learning and LLM-based. The candidate will join a funded project with the possibility to pivot to other projects if their interests and capabilities align better.

Key Duties

• Create framework and codebases for reproducible research
• Research on agent and multi-agent frameworks for complex task solving
• Coordinate with external partners and assist in writing reports, deliverables, and research proposals
• Collaborate with other members of the HPAI group in their active research lines
• Take part in both the development and scientific contribution of the AI4Europe project
  
  

Requirements

• Education
• Bachelor degree in STEM
• MSc degree graduate or undergraduate in Research or Artificial Intelligence
• High qualification in their Bachelor or MSc studies
• Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
• 6 month experience in a profession involving AI development tasks
• Competences
• Knowledge in Python, TensorFlow or Pytorch technologies
• Experience in working on practical real world tasks
• Experience with LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic AI is desirable
• Experience in modelling tasks
  

Conditions

• The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
• We offer a part-time contract (20h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
• Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
• Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
• Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
