The Senior Delivery Lead has a pivotal role within the IT delivery function and is responsible for driving the successful execution of projects, programs, and product backlog initiatives. Collaborating with multiple product teams, stakeholders, and project managers, this role ensures delivery excellence through effective planning, proactive problem-solving, and servant leadership. The Senior Delivery Lead bridges Agile practices and traditional project management, maintaining a strong focus on outcomes while fostering a productive team environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in delivery management, balancing Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and ensure alignment.
- Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and promoting Agile best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to analyze delivery metrics and use data to drive transparency and improvements.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (B2 level or higher).
Responsibilities:
Delivery Ownership:
- Lead and manage the delivery of key initiatives, including projects, programs, product backlog items, and technical improvements, ensuring timelines, quality, and outcomes align with business goals.
- Maintain a strong focus on the end-to-end delivery cycle, proactively identifying and addressing risks, dependencies, and blockers.
Collaboration with Project Managers:
- Partner with Project Managers to coordinate delivery schedules, align resource allocation, and ensure effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports to Project Managers and stakeholders, offering visibility into progress, challenges, and resolutions.
Team Support and Coordination:
- Work closely with product teams to prioritize and deliver tasks, balancing business priorities with technical feasibility and capacity.
- Act as a point of escalation for team-level issues, resolving conflicts and addressing impediments promptly to maintain momentum.
Scrum Master and Servant Leadership Tasks:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Daily Stand-ups to ensure team alignment and focus.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability by supporting the team in achieving their goals.
- Mentor and coach team members to promote self-organization, cross-functionality, and continuous improvement.
- Shield the team from external distractions and ensure a clear focus on priorities.
- Support Agile best practices to improve team performance while adapting to delivery-focused organizational needs.
Continuous Improvement:
- While de-emphasizing traditional Agile coaching, identify and implement practical delivery improvements that streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency.
- Encourage a delivery-focused mindset within teams, fostering accountability and ownership for outcomes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the IT delivery function, Digital team stakeholders, and other departments to ensure alignment on priorities and expectations.
- Ensure clear, consistent communication of progress, changes, and challenges to all relevant parties.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and track delivery performance metrics, using data to inform decision-making and drive transparency with stakeholders.
Support Technical Improvements:
- Collaborate with teams to prioritize and execute technical enhancements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business value.
