Role Overview:

As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead the build-out of our Enterprise Data Platform. As BetKing grows in both size and complexity, we need a world-class data infrastructure to support a range of workloads, including in-product reporting, BI, real-time analytics, data science, and predictive modelling. You will be responsible for bringing this vision to life, managing a team of Data Engineers & Data Engineering specialists, and working closely with our AI team, Data Scientists, and Product Engineering teams.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Design: Architect scalable and robust data solutions ensuring data integrity, high availability, and future growth.
  • Build: Lead the development and delivery of new features and improvements for the Data Platform, prioritizing high-value outputs.
  • Test: Ensure the quality of your team's output with fast, frequent, and effective testing and verification processes.
  • Run: Monitor and maintain the smooth operation of the data infrastructure, proactively solving issues to improve the solution.
  • Document: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date technical and use case documentation.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, nurture, and mentor team members to build a top-tier data engineering team.
  • Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the company to enhance the Data Platform's capabilities and align with company priorities.

What You Need for This Role:

  • Significant experience with high-volume financial transactional systems (fintech, gaming, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead and manage data engineering teams, including recruitment, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing scalable cloud data architectures, particularly with data lake technology.
  • Proficiency in operationalizing data models and managing data privacy issues.
  • Proven expertise with Databricks, including experience with PySpark, Delta Lake and MLflow (highly advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure data services (highly advantageous).
  • Familiarity with other cloud-based data management environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Hadoop, Snowflake, Spark, Storm) is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of core OLAP and data warehousing concepts and practices.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
