🚀 Back-End Developer – ENGLISH – 100% REMOTE EU

We're looking for a Back-End Developer to support DG CONNECT, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology. DG CONNECT drives the EU’s digital transformation by developing legislation, policies, and digital innovation.

The selected candidate will contribute to projects related to data and text analytics, digital platforms, and the implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA) – a key EU regulation to ensure safer and fairer online platforms. This role supports the development of DSA information systems and may evolve based on project needs.

📌 Description Of The Tasks

🛠️ Development of back-end applications with Microsoft technologies (such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, C#, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Power Apps, …).

🔗 Integration of corporate reusable solutions (like EUlogin and EUAccess) with Microsoft Dynamics.

🧠 Implement core business logic.

💾 Creation of servers and databases for functionality.

📊 Design and implementation of data storage solutions.

🔐 Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.

⚡ Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability.

🌐 Design and develop APIs.

🚀 Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.

📂 Taking lead on projects, as needed.

✅ Maintenance of code integrity and organisation.

🧼 Writing clean, functional code on the back-end.

🔍 Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.

🐞 Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.

🎯 Meet both technical and consumer needs.

📘 Write technical documentation.

🧑💻 Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.

🤝 Interaction with the business analysts, customers, users, project leaders and the other developers.

Requirements:

🎓 LEVEL OF EDUCATION

📚 Level of education corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework, which typically corresponds to a bachelor degree of 3 years.

🧠 Knowledge And Skills

💻 Proficiency with Microsoft technologies such as Dynamics CRM and PowerApps.

🗃️ Good knowledge of Relational DBMS SQL Server.

📄 Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

💡 Good knowledge of .Net programming.

🌐 Knowledge of interoperability technology (SOA, web services, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented bus, event architecture).

🧰 Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools.

🔧 Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN.

📈 Awareness of software development and service methodologies (e.g., Agile).

✅ Ability to apply high quality standards.

⚙️ Ability to cope with fast changing technologies.

🗣️ Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.

🔐 High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG CONNECT Unit R3 contain personal and confidential data.

✔️ At least 2 years of specific expertise in Microsoft Dynamics.

✔️ At least 5 years of specific expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.

✔️ At least 5 years of specific expertise in .Net programming (Microsoft or .Net Core).
