Who you are:
The CIEE Barcelona Internship Coordinator is responsible for securing adequate, quality and rewarding internship opportunities for CIEE students, for ensuring that the internship process and placement follow the overall CIEE policies and procedures, and for helping students adjust to the culturally different workplace and environment. This position works coordinately with the Senior Internship Coordinator (to whom s/he reports), and the other Departments (Marketing team, Academic team, and the Program Managers)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enlarge Company Portfolio and Build Companies’ Loyalty: Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential internship employers; coordinate and participate in internal and external networking and professional events, create and improve documentation to attract new companies, regular visits to partners and continue communication with workplace supervisors to understand companies’ needs and requests.
- Coordinate the Internship Placement process: Coordinate the internship programs placement process and all activities related to internship in Barcelona.
- Coordinate the Internship Programs onsite: Provide support and accompany the internship student participants once they are in Barcelona.
- Administrative tasks: Complete administrative tasks for internship and experiential learning programs, including spreadsheet maintenance, data entry, HSS reporting. Maintain updated the internship opportunities in our database and in Salesforce
Other responsibilities:
- Participate in daylong excursions with students, in conjunction with other CIEE staff members and faculty (if applicable).
- In rotation with other staff members carry the emergency phone (only for permanent positions)
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales and Marketing, HR or other related field is required.
- Professional work experience in Sales/HR preferred. Professional work experience in an international education-related position will be a plus.
- Canva and Salesforce previous experience will be a plus.
- Knowledge of local culture, history, business practices, and academic environment.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to customer service.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and verbal) mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to apply good judgement under pressure and to make reasoned and informed decisions in high-ambiguity situations.
- Demonstrated integrity, initiative and professionalism.
