IT Project Manager - Digital Lab

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong consultancy skills to support and lead strategic projects in labs across R&D and manufacturing plants. This role involves managing critical IT initiatives, including:

1. Leading the RFP process for a comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) platform.
2. Managing the RFP for a Scientific Data Cloud solution (e.g., Tetrascience), including vendor evaluation and selection.
3. Overseeing the upgrade of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Key Responsibilities

RFP Leadership:

• Design and manage the RFP processes for the QA platform and Scientific Data Cloud solution.
• Define business requirements, develop evaluation criteria, and facilitate vendor selection.
• Engage with vendors through workshops, proposals, and technical discussions.

LIMS Upgrade:

• Oversee the planning and execution of the LIMS upgrade, ensuring minimal disruption to lab operations.
• Manage system enhancements, testing, validation, and deployment phases.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align upgrades with lab requirements and compliance standards.

General Project Management:

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Develop detailed project plans, manage risks, and promptly resolve issues.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams.

Consultancy and Strategic Guidance:

• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders, providing strategic recommendations.
• Ensure alignment of all projects with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights to support decision-making processes.

Candidate Profile

Experience:

• Extensive project management experience within R&D or manufacturing labs, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record of leading RFPs for IT solutions and overseeing LIMS upgrades.

Skills:

• Strong consultancy skills with the ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent project management capabilities, including planning, coordination, and execution.
• Familiarity with lab systems (e.g., LIMS, ELN, CDS), QA workflows, and data management solutions.

Additional Information

Project Scope:

• Leading the RFP for a QA platform encompassing various quality processes, including QMS (Deviation, Complaint, Audit, Investigation), DMS (Document Management), Validation Management, and Learning Management.
• Managing the RFP process for a Scientific Data Cloud solution.
• Overseeing the LIMS upgrade project and other lab-focused IT initiatives.

Duration:

• Full-time commitment for an initial period of a couple of years, with the possibility of extension.

Location:

• Barcelona (GCC site).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related discipline in life sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology).
