The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

Context And Mission
The Education and Training team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) coordinates activities and fosters collaborations in the field of High Performance Computing (HPC) with leading universities, research institutions, and supercomputing centers at the local, national, and European levels. Our mission is to support the development of the next generation of HPC professionals and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness in supercomputing through high-quality, accessible training initiatives.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional with some familiarity with technical skills in a field related to HPC, computer science, engineering, or similar, to play a key role in European projects focused on HPC education and training.
A central focus of this position will be the EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy (EVITA) project, where BSC is a key beneficiary. EVITA aims to build a coordinated, high-quality training ecosystem for HPC across Europe. The selected candidate will contribute to the implementation of the project through activities related to project coordination, the development of a Competence and Qualification Framework, and the quality assurance and development of learning materials.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment, actively contributing to the advancement of HPC training in Europe.
Key Duties
- Contribute actively and creatively to the success of internationally coordinated HPC education and training initiatives, bringing energy, collaboration, and ideas
- Support strategic decision-making in HPC education in Europe through active engagement with partners, integration of feedback, and coordination of communications with international stakeholders
- Assist with day-to-day project management, including meeting organisation, internal reporting, and tracking of milestones and deliverables to ensure timely contributions from BSC
- Coordinate and support training events, seminars, and meetings for various audiences at both national and international levels
- Contribute to the preparation of professional reports, documentation, and national or international grant proposals
- Support the design and implementation of the BSC training program in alignment with evolving European strategies and project frameworks
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Education & Training team as needed
- Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field (Education, Computer Science, Project Management, Science Communication, or similar)
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to effectively manage time and organise information to ensure the smooth functioning of multiple ongoing activities in parallel
- Competence using office software and tools to edit documents, create presentations, and store and analyse data
- Competence participating in, hosting, and presenting during online and hybrid meetings
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Experience in EU-funded project environments or international collaborative projects is a plus
- Familiarity with HPC, digital skills training, or higher education frameworks is a plus
- Knowledge of data management and GDPR principles is a plus
- Experience with coordination of academic or technical events and training is a plus

- We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
- Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
- Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
- Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona

The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
- Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
- Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.
The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
