Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Data & AI Specialist who will play a pivotal role in articulating and executing our data and AI strategy. You will collaborate closely with the Tech team,with the Tech team and other relevant stakeholders, owning the optimization of data processes, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the exploration and implementation of advanced AI architectures.

This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in SQL, dbt, and Python who wants to quickly build practical expertise in modern AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector databases.

Key Responsibilities

AI Architecture & Innovation

• Participate in the implementation of innovative AI solutions using different LLM models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Contribute to designing and prototyping AI architectures involving vector databases (Pinecone, Chroma, Pgvector).
• Maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for all AI solutions and data architectures deployed within Zinklar.

Machine Learning Exploration

• Implement basic machine learning models using Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) for data-driven insights and predictive capabilities.
• Support deployment of ML solutions into production.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to inform the development and iterative improvement of ML models.

Data Management & Engineering

• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries and maintain efficient ETL pipelines using dbt and BigQuery.
• Administer and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL), ensuring schema quality, query efficiency, and performance.
• Develop automated data quality checks and ensure consistency and accuracy across data models.

Qualifications

Essential

• Advanced SQL skills (complex subqueries, window functions, query optimization).
• Hands-on experience managing data models with dbt and proficiency with BigQuery or PostgreSQL.
• Solid Python skills focused on data analytics (Pandas, NumPy) and foundational knowledge of ML techniques (supervised and unsupervised learning).
• Understanding of modern AI architectures, specifically generative AI techniques (LLMs, fine-tuning, RAG).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably GCP; alternatively AWS/Azure).
• Experience with modern ML and AI frameworks/tools (LangChain, Hugging Face, TensorFlow/Keras, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of API design (REST) and containerization (Docker).
